By Coaching a lot of people I have realized a simply and obvious pattern. The majority of people in this world want to be more successful, happier, have more freedom, and enjoy more their lives.

The challenge is sometimes we do things that eliminates or reduces this success, and sometimes we are not conscious about it.

But before we need to understand what is success for you. What is success for you?  When do you feel truly successful? Getting a better car, a bigger bank account, more impact, a bigger contribution, better relationships, the ability to travel more? Or even a feeling of having given your all? Look back 5 years and ask yourself, When did i feel truly successful?

Whatever I is for you, most likely involves progress, making progress, improving something, expanding your present situation, becoming more fulfilled.

Progress is success and Success is Progress. Improving something is success.

So, if progress is success, these are the 7 things that stop, reduce or kill success.

Negative Thinking

This is the number one and most destructive habit you can develop if you want to kill your potential. Think negative about people, about the world, about yourself, about your future, about humanity is all you need to live an unhappy live.

Thinking about everything you are lacking in your life instead of your blessing and the things you are grateful for guarantees a painful experience.

Try to see what’s wrong; what’s not working is a great way to make t worse. This is the magic formula to make your life a horrible experience.

Self -limiting Beliefs

This is another form of negative thinking.

Most of us when we were very young had people of influence, people as your parents, your teachers, tutors etc.

If you heard enough times that you were not good enough, or you would never account to anything, or you were ugly, fat, or anything like that, most likely you believed them.

If you believed them, you developed a self limiting belief. This belief will be part of you until you change it to another more empowering belief.

We all have those. If you want to limit your potential or yourself, this is an excellent way to do it. There is nothing that kills human potential and success as having some strong self-limiting belief ingrained in your subconscious mind. The good news you can change them easily.

Destructive Emotions

Emotions like anger, envy, rage.
Another negative behavior pattern is destructive emotions. You can be angry for a few minutes, but when you live in anger, or when you feel so comfortable and easy to feel upset for every little thing, then you are “doing” a destructive emotion.
You don´t only feel an emotion, YOU DO an Emotion.
You are doing the action to feel that way.


The more you “do” destructive emotions the easier and more natural is to live there. Remember, the more you do something, the easier it gets to repeat it.

You kill the monster by not feeding it.

Negative Daily News

If you want to live a mediocre life there is no better formula than to fill your mind with all types of negative news, horrible stories, bad economy news, crisis events, murders, violence, and all type of painful events.

This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t watch news at all. This means you should be very vigilant where you get the information from because depending where you get it from it will focus on one thing or another.

You also should be very careful what you put into your subconscious mind because your mind is like a sponge. It doesn’t care what liquid you put it, it will absorb it.

The majority of news outlets want to show the worst news possible because this is what sells. Drama sells. You know why? Because it gets your attention.

Drama will get your attention faster than anything else because your amygdala is always looking for dangerous situations in order to protect and help you survive.

Does this mean the world is getting worse? Of course not. The world is getting better and you can too but you need to massively reduce your negative news consumption.

Toxic Environments

Toxic environments in the form of negative-toxic people and dis-empowering environments.

There is nothing better than negative person to take away your enthusiasm, happiness and excitement for life.

I have realized some negative people are so happy being unhappy that they really don’t want to change. On the contrary, they want to make sure everybody gets on the same level of negative vibe.

These people are called dream destroyers. They will make sure they will tell you in as many ways as possible your dream will never happen. You know what? if you spend too much time with them, they will be absolutely right. They will never happen.

A toxic environment can also be a bad area full of crime, drugs, and violence. Make sure you get away from there, and run as far as you can from your toxic negative friends.

Bless them and wish them the best, but run away from them. Unfortunately, there are people who love to be addicted to drama, negativity, victimhood and who are happy being that way.
They also want you to be that way so they can feel better about themselves. Run away!

Laziness

Nothing will kill personal excellence and success as the unwillingness to make the effort to improve and achieve.

This is another way of lack of self discipline. Your ‘self discipline” muscles need a little work out.

Laziness is not doing what you know you should do when you should do it. It is also cutting corners to do the least amount of effort possible.

It’s trying to win by not taking action or taking the minimum amount of action possible. Laziness also refers to the lack of enough physical activity or movement. The overweight epidemic we are experiencing all over the world is from a lack of physical activity in combination to bad quality food.

Lack of physical activity and exercise will guarantee a mediocre and painful life experience. It’s only a matter of time. The good news is that you can get addicted to movement, exercise and feeling great. Feeling great is the best food you can have.
Nothing tastes as good as feeling awesome.

  • Wasting Time:
    If time is the most precious asset you can have, wasting time is the worst thing you can do.I have never been able to understand people who tell me they are killing time.What do you mean killing time? If you are killing time is because you don’t have empowering things you want to do, become or experience. If you are killing time is because you haven’t been able to discover what you love to do or your deep passion.Time never stops, and it doesn’t care how you use it. I see so many people these days wasting huge amounts of hours doing nothing, or even worse with activities which produce a low level quality of life. Its amazing.Every body should have breaks and vacations, but living in a “total vacation” is guarantee of killing your potential and your life.Remember, clock never stops.

     

    These are some of the killers of human success.

  • Remember, you create your life with every thought, every action you take, or the one you don’t take. You are always creating your life.

    I believe you have something special to do in this world that NO ONE can do it as well as you can. Please take that privilege, use it. You are here because someone or something” gave you this life. Make it worth it. The clock NEVER stops.
